A few clarifications before you order

We keep things straightforward at the roastery, but a couple of points are worth spelling out. These notes cover how we describe our beans, what you can expect from roast dates, and how we handle the gear we sell. If anything here is unclear, our contact page has the full details.

Single origin vs. blend

Single origin lots come from one farm or washing station, and we name them by region. Our espresso blends combine beans from different origins to hit a consistent profile. The label on each bag tells you exactly what you are getting, so there is no guesswork at the shelf.

Roast dates and freshness

We roast twice a week in small batches. The roast date is printed on every bag, and we recommend using the coffee within four to six weeks for the best flavour. Beans are shipped within a day or two of roasting, so they arrive with plenty of life left in them.

Brew guides are per bean

Each bean profile has its own brew guide on the product page. These are not generic instructions. They reflect how we cup the coffee in the roastery, with the grind size and ratio that worked for us. Use them as a starting point and adjust to your own taste.

Equipment compatibility

The brewers, grinders, and filters we stock are chosen for home use and tested with our own beans. If you are unsure whether a piece of gear suits your setup, check the product description for the included accessories and recommended use. We keep the range practical on purpose.

Cupping sessions

Our cupping sessions happen on the first Saturday of each month for regulars. These are informal tastings where we go through recent roasts and answer questions about brewing. Attendance is limited, and we announce the details in the store and on the product pages beforehand.

Ordering and delivery

Orders are packed after the roast date, so what you receive matches the batch described on the page. Delivery times depend on your location in South Africa. We do not hold large stock of roasted coffee, which keeps things fresh but means some lots sell out quickly.

Every bag and brewer we stock is chosen for one reason: to make a consistent cup at home without the guesswork. Browse the range below, filter by what fits your routine, and read the brew notes before you decide.

Starter Kits In stock

Starter Service Kit

This kit is built around the first few weeks of brewing at home. It covers the gear you actually need, the beans that suit a forgiving brew, and the routine that gets you from bag to cup without second-guessing.

The page explains what is being considered, why it matters in the roastery's context, and what detail a reader can expect next. The copy is intentionally plain and specific, so it reads like a real content item rather than a sales pitch.

Guided Setup Option

This option is for when you know what you want to brew but are not sure which grinder, dripper, or ratio fits the bill. It walks through practical use, tradeoffs, and decisions that a reader may recognize from their own kitchen counter.

It avoids broad promotional claims and keeps the topic tied to a clear situation. The description gives enough substance for a real page rather than a placeholder card.

Ongoing Support Package

Once your setup is running, the questions shift. This package gives the third item its own reason to exist, covering a separate angle with concrete context around dialling in, seasonal bean changes, and maintenance.

It avoids repeating the same promise in different words. The result should feel like a planned article, project, review, or offer.

Everything you need to brew well at home

We built the shop around the tools and routines we actually use in the roastery. No gimmicks, no shelf warmers. Just the gear that helps you get a clean, repeatable cup from a single-origin lot or a daily espresso blend.

Twice-weekly roast schedule

We roast every Tuesday and Friday in a 12kg drum roaster. When you order a bag, it is roasted no more than a few days before it ships, so the coffee lands on your counter at its peak.

Brew guides for every bean

Each single-origin lot and blend in the catalogue comes with a short brew guide. Grind size, water temperature, and a simple recipe, so you know what to expect before you buy and how to dial it in once it arrives.

Practical brewer selection

From pour over drippers to manual espresso makers, we stock a focused range of brewers that are easy to maintain and forgiving for someone still finding their routine. If we would not use it daily, we do not carry it.

Grinders and scales that matter

Consistency starts before the water touches the coffee. We carry burr grinders and compact scales that give you repeatable results without taking over your counter or your budget.

Monthly cupping sessions

Every first Saturday we cup new arrivals and current lots with whoever shows up. It is a relaxed hour where you can taste the difference between regions and ask questions about what you are brewing at home.

Direct farm relationships

Green beans come straight from smallholder farms in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and the East African highlands. We know who grew each lot and how it was processed, and we pay well above commodity rates.

Not sure where to start? The starter kits combine a brewer, grinder, and a bag of coffee matched to your taste, so you can skip the guesswork. For a closer look at how we source and roast, see our sourcing and roasting approach.
